Russell was an amazing guide. He shared historical information woven with his personal experiences. He was kind and flexible when our group was a few minutes late and made sure we made it to the right spot for our next stage of the tour. His knowledge as a native New Yorker was a highlight. We were a group of 4 moms and 4 teens and we all enjoyed it. Thanks to Russell for making this a memorable part of our trip.
This moving and evocative tour of Ground Zero begins at the site of what served as a rescue center for victims and place for mementos after the attacks: St. Paul's Chapel. This historic church was miraculously unharmed when the Twin Towers fell despite being only a block away. You'll then walk to the 9/11 Memorial where we'll reflect on the lives lost in the World Trade Center attacks. See "Reflecting Absence," the largest artificial waterfalls on the continent. Your guide will share the meaning behind the memorial, stories from the day, and how New Yorkers came together in the aftermath. From there, begin a self-guided tour in the lobby of the Freedom Tower by watching "Voices," a film dedicated to the men and women of the Twin Towers and Freedom Tower. Upgrade your experience to take the "Sky Pod" elevator 1,250 feet up to the One World Observatory, where you can see the NYC skyline stretching across Manhattan.
Departure Point
- We meet inside the Oculus, a mall and transportation hub at Ground Zero. Go to Level C2. Your guide will be wearing an orange hat and standing by the L'Arte del Gelato stand.
- You will go to the One World Observatory on your own after the tour. You can spend as long as you like at the top but most people spend about an hour.

Sean was a great tour leader. He gave a very moving story of the events of 9/11 that added a personal touch of the events of that day. I would highly recommend this tour. Also, add the visit to the One World observatory. The views were magnificent!

We had our tour with Ray, and he explained and told us many things that you would not discover or come to know if you self-guided the site.

I think he could have spoken louder.
Our tour group number was bigger than I expected.
