We had a wonderful experience on the Creole Queen Historical Tour. Charles, our onboard narrator, was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the first half of the journey to the battle site both entertaining and educational. He shared fascinating history and local context that really brought the area to life. The stop at the Chalmette Battlefield is brief, but absolutely worthwhile. Ranger Harold was incredibly informative and passionate, offering great insight into the Battle of New Orleans and answering questions thoughtfully. One of the unexpected highlights was seeing parts of New Orleans that you wouldn’t normally experience as a visitor. Viewing the city from the river provides a unique perspective and a deeper appreciation for its history and geography. Overall, the tour was exactly as advertised: well organized, informative, and a great addition to a New Orleans itinerary. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history or looking to see the city from a different vantage point.

Take a 2 hour, 30 minute cruise down the great Mississippi River aboard the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen. Enjoy a narrated tour with a licensed historian describing 300-years of New Orleans history; from the founding of the city by the LeMoyne Brothers to the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. During your cruise the vessel will dock at Chalmette Battlefield for a 1-hour excursion. Enjoy a guided tour and talk by a National Park Ranger about the battle of New Orleans, while taking in the sweet breeze and delicate waves along the river. Delight in a cash bar and/or a satisfying Creole lunch option available on the boat while viewing the famous French Quarter and Port of New Orleans from the river .

We didn't go because it was very cold and windy. Didn't decide until it was too late to cancel. Big bummer.

A really enjoyable & relaxing afternoon on a paddle boat, a true icon of the Mississippi. The presentation from historian guide Doctor Lauren was both informative and very entertaining.

Great trip up the Mississippi. The narrator Charlie Chestnut was very informative and very knowledgeable of the area. It was great trip learning about the Mississippi, the battle ground and he talked about Hurricane Katarina. Would definitely take the ride again when I return with more family members.

We longed to get a feel for some of the history of New Orleans. We were not disappointed. We also were very glad to enjoy the meal & get a taste of the local fare. We enjoyed the Rangers narrative of the Battle of New Orleans & the cruise on the paddleboat.
