As a New Yorker, it’s easy to rush past Lower Manhattan’s iconic sites without a second thought. This tour changes that, bringing history to life through entertaining and memorable stories. Covering everything from saints and criminals, to pirates and Indigenous & settler history, it offers a well-rounded and engaging perspective. The route is thoughtfully planned—you’re never in one spot too long, and each stop is just a short walk away. This was my second tour with Purefinder, and I highly recommend them!

Experience New York's history of death, burial, epidemics, and execution on this thrilling 1.75-hour night version of the Death in New York tour. Tour Highlights: Peer at the Lenape burial, capital punishment, and prisoner of war islands of New York Harbor from Battery Park. Discover the controversy surrounding museum death acquisitions and exhibits at the National Museum of the American Indian. Unearth the history of epidemics and burial prohibitions at Trinity Church. See the St. Paul’s Chapel cenotaphs of Irish war heroes and political activists. Learn about the first NYC Catholic burial ground and the ensuing riot at St. Peter’s Church. Visit the site of Manhattan’s historic jails, executions, excavated dead, and President Lincoln’s New York funeral procession at City Hall Park.
