I would highly recommend River Ventures and plan on booking with them in the future. The booking process was easy with all information clearly outlined of what to expect, what to bring, etc. We had a wonderful VIP experience this week with Aidan and Captain Melissa. Both were professional, fun and clearly love what they do. They made sure we were comfortable and enjoying the experience, but were also very respectful of the manatees and their habitat. It was exactly what I wanted from an animal encounter. I could go on and on about how cool it was to be in the water with the manatees; as an animal lover, I was just in awe of being able to do something like this!

Our new heated (during winter), luxury pontoon aims to amp up the manatee sighting and deliver a more personal event! Observe the endangered West Indian Manatee in Crystal River’s idyllic Kings Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Your US Coast Guard licensed captains and guides will take you into the 600 acre spring fed refuge waters for viewing and snorkeling with these slow moving wild giants. All equipment, fees, snacks and beverages are included.

Your tour will run four hours from start to finish and everything you will need is included for one price. You will begin at our full-service tour facility, where you will be educated about the animals in a classroom type setting and receive tips for your snorkel tour to make the most of your day. You will be taught the in’s and out’s of ‘passive interaction’ as this ensures that the animals enjoy the experience as much as we do! You will then be suited up and transported to the dock, where a Coast Guard certified covered pontoon will be waiting for you. This rich estuary will amaze…..birds, fish and wildlife abound! Submerge yourself in the manatee’s world! Finish your adventure by viewing your Captain’s photos back at our facility and be sure to visit our one-of-a-kind gift shop! Gary the guide and Garrett the captain did a great job. They were attentive to our needs and questions. They were both very knowledgeable and personable. Free drinks and snacks were a welcome plus! The people in the shop were also very friendly and personable. Definitely don’t pass on this once in a lifetime opportunity!

Garrett and Gary made sure we had the best time. They showed us best of both worlds. Where one manatee was and a bunch. I am an inexperienced swimmer and They made sure I was comfortable, checked on me multiple times. I can’t express the multitude of my gratitude for my experience. I appreciate it so much! Thank you!

We booked the semi private tour to swim with manatees with a maximum of 6 people. As there were no other people, it was just the 4 of us so in the end we had a private tour. Our guide Sheila and boat Tanner driver were excellent! We were glad we reserved the warm coats for afterwards as the water in December is pretty cold but we saw loads of manatees.
