Truly one of the best tours I think you can find in Savannah! We were looking for a “ghost tour” and, luckily, stumbled upon suggestions for Brandon and his Original Dark History Tour. This tour is so well organized and thoroughly informative, without feeling overwhelming for those of us who don’t have intimate knowledge of Savannah’s history. Brandon is clearly very passionate about what he does and curates an engaging tour that highlights the factual basis of many of Savannah’s ghost and haunted building myths. In addition to Savannah history, Brandon sprinkles in recommendations for places to see and visit from his own time in the city. If you do one night/ghost tour while you’re in Savannah, I highly recommend this be it!

We pride ourselves on fact-based history. That's why we don't give ghost tours. Savannah has so much dark history that we don't need to make up any! This tour begins with a brutal duel that took place in a bar that still exists to this day. We'll move on to discuss Savannah's first murder. You'll see the site of the colony's first cemetery and the grave of a Native who was crucial to Georgia's success. We'll visit the location where a more recent serial killer met a victim, then discuss Colonial Park Cemetery's past and present. Savannah saw a great deal of tragedy during the Revolution, and you'll learn about the toll it took. We'll tie things up at the site of a killing that ironically put Savannah on the pop culture map and helped lead to its booming tourist industry today. Please note that though some local ghost tours have recently rebranded themselves as "dark history" tours, we are the original! This is Savannah's only fact-based evening tour.

The tour was great! $32 after tax may seem high, but the tour was over 2 full hours and very detailed. The owner, Brandon, led the tour. He has training from the national parks service and was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Savannah history. We were lucky and had just three people on our tour, so we got a lot of time for questions. He did a great job of explaining the truth about some of the myths of Savannah and suggesting great places around town to explore more and get a sense of the local culture. I liked it so much I booked another tour from True History tours the next day.

I visited and joined the Savannah Dark History Tour. It was fantastic! Brandon facilitated the best tour I've experienced. His tour was entertaining and engaging. He explained Savannah and Georgia true history while dispelling typical ghost stories! If you are looking for a ghost tour, this one tells the true story without the theatrical performances seen in other tours. If you have time for just 1 tour, use Savannah True History Tours.
