Perfect tour if you don’t have much time. Libby was so knowledgeable and the tour was a great start to understanding the history and sights of NOLA

If you only have a short amount of time but you want to see as much of the French Quarter as possible, this is your tour! We will move at a fast pace, but you'll be able to get all those pictures! We will see all the famous sites of the French Quarter in 45 minutes. There is not as much storytelling or history as you get on a typical two-hour tour, but your guide will follow-up with a recap of the tour and a list of recommended ways to enjoy New Orleans even more.

Points of Interest

Stop At: Jackson Square751 Decatur St, , New Orleans, LouisianaStart your whirlwind tour in the heart of the city, Jackson Square. From here you can see St. Louis Cathedral, two Louisiana State Museums, the iconic Pontalba Apartments, and the statue of Andrew Jackson (of course). Your guide will give you a brief history of New Orleans, then it's off you go!Duration: 5 minutesStop At: Chartres Street, , New Orleans, LouisianaContinue up Chartres Street for some examples of iconic New Orleans architecture and great shops and restaurants, including a home that was prepared as a refuge for Napoleon (spoiler: he stood us up), a museum dedicated the stranger aspects of 19th Century pharmaceutical profession(leeches!) and the Louisiana State Supreme Courthouse.Duration: 5 minutesStop At: Bourbon Street, , New Orleans, LouisianaZoom down Bourbon Street for a taste (not literally - that would be gross) of the center of nighttime revelry in New Orleans, including the most notorious music halls and drinking establishments. Don't worry, it's usually not that shocking during the day.Duration: 5 minutesStop At: Royal StreetRoyal Street, , New Orleans, LouisianaRoyal Street has the most beautiful examples of French Quarter townhouses with iron-lace balconies, street performers, and art galleries. This is the street of your New Orleans dreams!Duration: 5 minutesStop At: Lalaurie Mansion1140 Royal St, , New Orleans, LouisianaPause long enough to get a few pictures of New Orleans' "most haunted" house - the former residence of 19th Century serial killer Madame Delphine LaLaurie. Maybe you'll get the shivers!Duration: 5 minutesStop At: Old Ursuline Convent Museum1100 Chartres Street, New Orleans, LouisianaHere is the oldest building in the region, originally built for the Ursulines nuns who came to New Orleans in 1727 to add some respectability to the town - good luck, poor nuns!Duration: 5 minutesStop At: French Market518 Saint Peter Street, New Orleans, LouisianaGet some ideas for future snacking and shopping at the French Market, the open-air market near the river where New Orleans has shopped and eaten for centuries. Scope out the alligator heads, voodoo dolls, pralines, crepes, shot glasses, and oysters you have been looking for! But you'll have to come back later - we have more to see!Duration: 5 minutesStop At: Decatur StreetNew Orleans, LouisianaExperience a little of the "grit" of the French Quarter on Decatur Street, where there are interesting shops, seafood restaurants, cafes, candy shops, music everywhere, and a golden statue of Joan of Arc! Follow the powdered sugar to world-famous Cafe Du Monde, the very best place for sipping cafe au lait while eating beignets and people-watching and listening to live jazz. If your grandma came here she did it - you have to do it, too! Hungry yet? We are almost done!Duration: 5 minutesStop At: Washington Artillery ParkDecatur St, , New Orleans, LouisianaThis park is now called Oscar Dunn Park (but Google hasn't gotten the memo), and it's the perfect place to end your super-fast tour of the French Quarter, with views of Jackson Square and the Mississippi River. You have earned those beignets and you are SO much smarter and fitter than you were an hour ago!Duration: 5 minutes

My small group was so excited to book a short tour of New Orleans for that very morning! We met Libby in Jackson Square. She was very conscientious about texting us about parking situations and when and where to find her. Her first question regarded our group’s interest for the tour, whether it be for historical facts, entertainment ideas, or dining suggestions. ( We chose history.) Libby was an absolute delight throughout the entire tour, not only relaying factual events but also pointing out comical elements found throughout the French Quarter. She answered our various historical questions and even offered insight into several eateries, alleys, bars, and shops. Her voice was always loud enough and clear enough for us to hear. The pace was a comfortable constant. Even when there were unexpected detours, she was quick to guide us in different directions and still explain points of interest. I would happily take another tour guided by Libby. It was the perfect tour to begin our stay in New Orleans!

James did a nice job as our tour guide. He was on time, friendly, and knowledgeable about New Orleans and the Garden District. James made sure to cover the topics we were most interested in. Early December is cool but not cold weather in New Orleans so it’s easy to do a walking tour. We recommend this 45 minute tour if you’re pressed for time or if it’s a hot time of year when you want to minimize sun and heat exposure — however, you could consider taking a 2 hour walking tour if you want a lot of details about home architecture and Garden District history.
