The Tahoe Via Ferrata is Alpenglow Expeditions’ newest outdoor adventure. Located on the iconic Tram Face at Squaw Valley Resort, the Tahoe Via Ferrata towers above The Village at Squaw Valley. A Via Ferrata, which means “Iron Road” in Italian, is a protected hiking and climbing experience that scales the iconic rock face. Using permanent steel anchors and cables, participants are safely attached to the rock throughout the experience. Participants will be guided on the routes by professionally trained mountain guides. Each participant will have a harness, helmet and safety lanyard provided by Alpenglow Expeditions. Participants are secured to the rock by wearing this specialized equipment that attaches to the steel cable.
Itinerary
Following a brief introduction and safety talk, climbers will head to the Via Ferrata in a 4x4 vehicle where they'll explore Tram Face on their Via Ferrata climb. All tours are fully guided, and clients are safely attached to a steel cable 100% of the time.
