Had a great time on the tour bus. The singing entertainment was a nice addition to the tour and made it feel much more special. If you've been on any other tour in Chicago you'll for the most part hear the usual factoids; but, with the interspersed songs and snacks/tea/decor, it felt much nicer. They mentioned they would be updating the decor/menu/tour/songs for the holidays which sounds nice. Too bad we won't be in Chicago for that season to see it.

Experience Chicago in style on this unique Tea Around Town tour—a cozy blend of sightseeing, culture, and afternoon tea. Ride in comfort through the Windy City’s most iconic spots, including Millennium Park’s Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), the Magnificent Mile, and Lake Michigan’s skyline views. Great idea to tour a metropolitan city while doing high tea! Beautifully designed bus and assigned seating. Please don’t give up on this idea but there were several things that could have been done better. 1/ Pick up location was under construction and road was closed for a while. They could have placed an “update” on website regards to where/how will they pick up, which was further down the hill. 2/ Beautifully presented finger sandwiches, scones with butter and deserts. Finger sandwiches were dried due to being exposed to air too long. Strongly recommend doing these arrangements in last minute, rather than for hours ahead of time. 3/ Tea Service- This was/is the MOST disappointing part. Tea service was extremely SLOW. One of the employees serves the tea. She stops by and chats and then fills up may be 1/10th of the cup. It took 20-25 min to get a first sip of tea in a 90 min tour. There were 4 types of tea and none of them were the classical sense of tea (no black tea?) No accommodations for children. We ate almost majority of the snacks without tea. The thermos she served the tea was NOT enough for the people on the bus. She ran out if it and went to fill it up again. Additionally, despite tea having great smell- it HAD NO TASTE. I strongly recommend actually partnering with a tea expert guys. Very likely you are not keeping the tea leaves (bags??)) long enough before serving. It all tasted HOT WATER with great smell. 4/ Leila- announcer/guide had great voice. Oh my god she sings live!!! We were on thr 3rd song when we realized this. Having said that her skillset as a guide needs to improve. Very minimal actually information. Please improve on this. 5/Driver Miguel was awesome. Not a single unexpected break, no shift change, no acceleration accidents. He was PERFECT in Chicago traffic. Overall it was an ok experience. Our kids left bus hungry, didn’t like sandwiches, only ate cakepops. Couldn’t drink any tea. Would we ever do this or recommend this to anyone we know again- likely NO. Too expensive for hot water and dry finger sandwiches despite live singing.

I waited a few days before writing this because I wanted to be fair. The idea is cute and unique, but the experience didn’t live up to expectations. My husband knew more Chicago facts than the tour guide, and the information shared was generic—nothing you couldn’t find online. The setup was charming and feminine, and the food was pretty good. But as a tea lover, I was disappointed. The “tea tasting” came in a small plastic souvenir cup with barely an ounce of tea per pour, while others got much more. When I asked for a little extra to enjoy with dessert, I was told no. There was no tea or food menu, so I still don’t know which tea I liked best. It’s a nice one-time experience for photos, but not for true afternoon tea fans. I’m glad I paid the discounted price; at full price, I would have rated it lower than three stars.
