My grandson, age 15, had never surfed before and he had a fabulous experience! Nico was his instructor and was super nice and my grandson really liked working with him. As the grandmother on shore, I was grateful to have Nico with him out on the water!! It all went extremely well and my grandson managed to stand and ride some waves! He did the two hour one on one instructor package and it was well worth it. Everyone w Ty Gurney was fabulous to work with on the phone while we planned the trip and in person

Ty Gurney Surf School has the lowest student-to-teacher ratios anywhere in Waikiki. We book no more than 2 students per instructor to ensure that every minute of your time with us is spent riding waves and learning to surf. SAFETY FOCUSED. We put safety first without sacrificing fun! All instructors maintain current CPR, Ocean Lifeguard, and First Aid Certifications. Our team’s experience and expertise as both individual surfers and professional surf instructors ensures that you’ll be surfing and learning with the best.
