We booked the Waikiki Luau at the Hilton expecting something special, but it was a real let-down. It wasn’t held on a lawn or beach setting, but on a rooftop of the Hilton, which immediately felt wrong and completely lacked atmosphere. No leis were given out on arrival, and the whole evening felt more like a themed hotel event than an authentic luau. The food was poor and the drinks were even worse — definitely not worth the price. The performances felt tired and well past their sell-by date, with little energy or engagement. Overall, it didn’t feel authentic or memorable in any way, and certainly not something we’d recommend. There are far better ways to experience Hawaiian culture than this.

We paid $560 US for premium which promised lei greeting(no) this was our first time at a luau so was looking forward to a lei. very very disappointed, we were suppose to get 3 alcoholic beverages but they put 1/2 oz of alcohol in the drinks and when we went for our 3rd drink they complained they were running out of product. There was no parade of the pig which is part of the package. Food was mediocre. The only good part of this night was the entertainment and it was NOT worth $560 for the two of us. Don’t do it, waste of money. When I asked the waiter about the package he said they took a lot of it away and all you can do is complain. Waste of money.

It was a great night but probably wasn’t worth the money. They also could have included a couple of dancers in the photos that they took of you at the start of the night, which really should have been included in all the packages given the price.

Just a beautiful night and experience. Very convenient to be on property and the meal and drinks (and alcoholic beverage) helped make the cost more palatable.
