On this special tour you'll explore many of the Cathedral's stunning 112 gargoyles (which divert excess water via a drainpipe running through their mouths) and its thousands of grotesques, which also help deflect water away from the building when rainwater bounces off the top of their heads, noses or other fanciful body parts. The gargoyles and grotesques are often (but not always) carved in the form of fantastic or imaginary animals or humans.  Among the gargoyles featured on the tour include the crooked politician, the ugliest monster, the yuppie, and the famous Darth Vader grotesque.

After the visual orientation, an expert will guide you outside to seek out the can’t-miss gargoyles and grotesques from the ground. Bring binoculars!
