Explore the stunning tropical seascapes at the world's second largest reef formation, the Great Maya Reef, during an hourlong snorkeling adventure. Swim along the surface surrounded by colorful fish and keep your eyes opened for crabs, lobsters and even sea turtles. Upon arrival at Puerto Morelos, go over the basics of snorkeling safety and technique, then suit up with a life jacket and snorkel gear including a brand-new tube. Visit one of the best snorkeling locations on the reef with time to snorkel at each one, for a varied look at Puerto Morelos' underwater world. While the wildlife changes from day to day, it’s common to spot sea turtles, rays, and many species of fish. Following your time in the water, shower and change for a stroll through Puerto Morelos, where you can browse small shops, or just find a spot on the beach to enjoy the Caribbean sunshine. Meet back up for lunch at a Puerto Morelos beach club, then make the return trip to your hotel.

Overall a decent tour. A bit disorganized getting everyone situated for the boat ride to the reef. Not a very clean facility. The actual snorkeling was pretty cool. The guides watch you like a hawk for safety reasons. A++ for that. The tequila sampling and brief history lesson regarding the tequila making process was interesting. Lunch was very good.

They are very tricky and will charge you fees which is more than the government t fee. Poor transportation no attention to detail and then they will try to seek you an over priced tequila. AtY away from them. Be prepared to wait 2 hr for a ride back to you hotel, don’t ask them to drop you elsewhere because they will not do so.

The guides were very friendly and professional. Also, the shop prices were super reasonable. The trip itself was great. While I personally wish the pace was a bit slower and could spend a bit more time in the reef, I didn’t feel rushed or frustrated. The only critique I have is that I wish there was more transparency around the itinerary. While it’s listed as a four hour trip, we spent less than an hour in the actual water. The other portion was lunch and walking around town before our transport came. While the town is cute, I had hoped for more time at the reef.

We booked a 4 hour snorkeling tour with What to do in Cancun. The snorkeling was a good experience and we could recommend it for beginners. The snorkeling staff was amazing, very helpful and seemed to have a lot of knowledge about the marine life. We felt taken care of during the whole boat trip and snorkeling. The activiny itself was quite short, 1 hour, after which we continued to the restaurant nearby to eat tacos. Very mediocre, you can easily find better food in Cancun. Although the estimation of the trip was 4 hours, we ended up with a day trip of over 8 hours. We spent approximately 4 hours in the car as the traffic jams were horrible on the way to Puerto Murelos - this is obviously not the staff’s fault. On the way back we took a ~1h detour without understanding why - the driver (nor anyone at any point of the day) did not keep us informed about the situation. In addition we faced extreme weather conditions as it was pouring rain. Driver’s driving style was totally irresponsible considering the weather and did absolutely not meet our (western) standards of safety. We asked the driver to slow down on the highway because we felt scared as it was pouring and the visibility was horrible. The driver responded that he already thinks he is driving too slow on the highway. This was an unfortunate experience even though the snorkeling itself was nice.
