Being on top of the bus in open air is the best way to experience the grandeur of the Canadian Rockies. 180 degrees view in all directions….you see it all and feel it all!

There is a park and ride at Lake Louise. It works pretty well. Pre booking is recommended, and can be done on the web, although our booking disappeared without trace first time. If you have made a booking, you dodge the first queue, and go straight to the next booth. Which is where it becomes interesting. We arrived 45 mins before our booked slot, but simply got a ticket for immediate use. And although our booking was for Lake Louise first, we could almost certainly have gone to Moraine Lake first, as the ticket we got was the same. Coming back late afternoon there was a long queue for the bus, and it was cold. They need to put on more buses at 4pm onwards, as the first bus filled before we could get on. But it does work.
