I really enjoyed this hiking experience. The guide (Emily) was great. She was very friendly, shared wonderful history and information along the trail, made sure we were staying hydrated and took breaks along the way. The views were amazing. And the wildlife we saw along the way was cool - buffalo, Badgers, Pronghorns. I'd highly recommend this tour. Well worth it

Yellowstone Hiking Guides safely leads hiking groups into the Lamar Valley on a wildlife viewing day hike tour. Our guides are well versed in Yellowstone's unique wildlife. Safety and fun are our top priorities. Regularly, we spot wolves, bears, and other rare wildlife from the trail in the backcountry of Yellowstone. Our tours are off the beaten path, traveling on bison trails for the majority of the hike. Most tour providers in Yellowstone spend the majority of the day on the road, or very close to the road. Our guides take you into the backcountry for unique views of the Lamar Valley that you cannot see from the roadway. Frequently, our guests tell us that they could not do this hike on their own through the massive bison herd and unpredictable wildlife.

Emily Jo and Josh are great! Emily Jo eased my concerns about taking my 12 and 9 year old daughters before we went. Then Josh met us at the trailhead and took us off the beaten path! We hiked the bison trails, saw a herd, a few pronghorns and grizzly tracks. He was very knowledgeable about the park and its wildlife. It felt like a real behind the scenes experience!

Our guide Spencer was so knowledgeable and funny! He provided a very substantial lunch and snacks for us, as well as water and Gatorade. We saw pronghorn, plenty of bison, several badgers and birds. The hike was a nice pace and we learned a lot. I would definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to get into Lamar Valley and see lots of wildlife!
