Great atmosphere. The artist was awesome. Had a great time and the painting isn't that hard to do. Step by step for all types of skill levels.

What You'll Get

Art can portray the world's most complex subjects: the passion of love, the horrors of war, and the despair of fruit waiting to be eaten. Hold a mirror to nature with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options.

  • $17 for any 2.5-hour painting class (a $30 value), a glass of wine (a $5 value), and complimentary appetizers (a $35 total value)
  • $34 for the above for two (a $70 value)

To start off classes, students take to their personal painting stations, which are stocked with canvases, brushes, and paints. Instructors then take students step-by-step through painting an original painting or famous masterpiece. At the class’s end, each student leaves with their own ready-to-hang creation. See the class schedule.

Vine Gogh Artist Bar & Studio

As the artist-in-residence at a local grade school, Vine Gogh Artist Bar & Studio owner Jenny Schildan inspired more than 600 grade-schoolers to confidently wield a paintbrush. Now, she applies the same patience and passion when teaching her adult art classes.

Jenny likes to emphasize the therapeutic, meditative aspects of painting in her classes. “You kind of get tunnel vision for a couple hours—it’s a nice way to leave everything aside for a while.” To set a soothing tone, she serves wine and complimentary appetizers, puts on music, and kicks off classes with a toast. Then, she delves deeply into technique, from which brush to use to proper brushstrokes and basic color theory. “I tell students it’s like learning a dance routine. You go step by step and at the end, you have a whole piece.”

Her fellow instructors tout not just technical expertise—all studied art at the college or university level—but a lifelong passion for art and teaching. She believes that the nurturing environment the group fosters can lure even the most timid painter to the canvas. “People have shocked themselves to see what they can create.”
