Without wine stimulating illuminating discourse at dinner parties, conversations would be overrun by immature knock-knock jokes. Learn to brew your own conversation lubricant with today’s Groupon: for $50, you get a session of blended-fruit wine brewing at Vine Park Brewing Company (a $100 value), located in St. Paul. Avoid littering kitchen countertops with pans of lemon beer brewed in a car engine with a visit to Vine Park Brewing Company’s well-equipped facility.
As the only on-site brew-it-yourself brewery in the Midwest, Vine Park provides almost all necessary equipment (wine, corks, helpful services) for a fun batch-brewing session for up to three people per kettle. Like a finely aged bag of chocolate cheese-puff mix, blended fruit wines take only 30 minutes to prepare but can be enjoyed after six weeks of aging. Savor flavors such as peach apricot chardonnay, wildberry Shiraz, or pomegranate zinfandel after completing the brewing supervised by a friendly brew coach’s expert eye (his left eye). After a half-hour wine-blending session, wine batches will ferment for six weeks before being bottled into 28 to 30 bottles. Bottles are not included with this Groupon (they cost $1.40 each, and a batch big enough for this session costs $42), but you are welcome to bring your own clean bottles and Vine Park will help you sanitize them onsite. This Groupon can also be used to upgrade to a regular wine brewing.
After bottling, Vine Park holds wines for six weeks as they age. At your brewing session you will schedule a time to come in and assist in bottling, corking, and labeling the wine. Though the wine will be ready to take home then, Vine Park recommends that you wait an additional month before drinking it. Brewing boozy creations in a well-equipped facility with the help of skilled professionals is easier than entrusting hitchhikers with unmarked jugs of swill to provide a palate-pleasing recipe. Vine Park Brewing Company is an excellent spot to safely and masterfully produce libations with a personal touch that aren’t crafted from the leftovers of an out-of-control book-club bender.
