What You'll Get
Wines, like a comfortable T-shirt or a hard candy left to ripen under the couch, only get better with age. Taste the passing of time with today's Groupon: for $15, you get a wine tasting for two at Vintner's Cellar of Royal Oak (a $30 value).
Fueled by the passion of winemakers and obsessive-compulsive grape-stompers, Lisa Berry and Sheryl Racey, Vintner's Cellar offers several wines fermented in Royal Oak. During the tasting, tenderfoot sommeliers get to sample five different wines from a diverse range of red, white, fruit, and specialty libations. Winesplorers also get to snack on cheese, crackers, and grapes, while soaking in the lively décor of intermingling dark and vivid tones with a granite-topped finish. The wine tasting is good for two people, so buddy up or carefully wheel a frenemy's bed to the cellar before he or she wakes up.
Fermentation aficionados may choose to redeem their Groupon for a private wine tasting party on Thursday, April 21. Only for Groupon holders, the party runs from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and presents palates with an array of wines as the Moon and the Sun continue their unending king-of-the-hill game overhead.
- I really enjoyed all the variety of wines I sampled at this tasting and a prior one – Lori W., Yelp, 4/8/09
- When you do stop in to Vintner’s, you can enjoy a sample of any of the wines they have… drink a glass of wine while working via wifi, make your own wine and wine labels, host or attend an educational or social party, or make wine for yourself or for charity and fundraising purposes. – GirlyDrinks, The Urbane Life
