What You'll Get
Well-rounded golfers must master a variety of skills, including driving, reverse-putting, and suppressing the part of the brain that associates high scores with victory. Chip away at preconceived notions with today’s Groupon: for $189, you get the VIP golf package at Hillcrest Golf and Country Club (up to an $870 total value). The package includes the following:
- 5 18-hole rounds of golf (up to a $39 value/round for South Florida residents; up to a $74 value/round for nonresidents). For each round, customers must pay a mandatory cart fee of $25 not covered in this Groupon.
- 10 one-hour small-group golf lessons (a $50 value each)</p>
Revamped in 2000 by celebrated course architect Joe Lee—whose resume includes Cog Hill’s Dubsdread course—Hillcrest Golf and Country Club’s course spans 7,076 yards of immaculate fairways cleaved into a landscape of mature trees and tranquil waterways. Prepare for the championship course’s manifold hazards with 10 one-hour small-group lessons from one of the course’s resident aces, who helps pupils master the game’s essential techniques and better understand life from a flagstick’s perspective. Classes never exceed 10 students in size, ensuring that each student’s swing receives ample attention and corrective treatment. In-class improvements will reap dividends on the fast-starting course, which challenges duffers early with a testy opening hole and an even more treacherous 2nd second hole, a par 4 where considerable length and a well-bunkered green coalesce to create the hardest-rated hole. Knees quake and nine-irons shiver as linksmen approach the signature par 4 18th hole, which ends the round in dramatic fashion with a picturesque island green.

About Spring Hill Golf Course
Originally built in 1930, Spring Hill Golf Course spans 6,665 yards of kempt fairways lined by mature trees and interspersed water hazards. The par 72 course snakes through the charming Spring Hill College campus, challenging golfers with subtle elevation changes, six ponds, and rogue professors interrogating passersby about the lost history of the mashie niblick. The driving range prepares golfers for their 18-hole odyssey, which begins with an unforgiving first hole—a 435-yard par 4 rated the course's most difficult.
PGA professional Shane Allen oversees the stately grounds, employing digital video analysis in lessons for juniors, adults, and caddies desperate to determine their most intimidating post-putt howl.
