VIP Fitness houses nine muscle-whispering trainers who help bodies move toward healthier futures with customized fitness and nutrition programs. Included in the buff-inducing battalion is co-owner and physical-therapist Dr. Mike Sartorius, who was featured on MTV exercising his skills. Workouts are available 27 times a week and last about 30–45 minutes. Scale the climbing ropes to build strength, get your heart pumping, and update the nutritional journal scrawled on the ceiling. Guests can also tone up by resisting wall-tethered bungee cords and tossing bananas at the monkey-bar pole course.
In addition to focusing on exercise, VIP’s fitness pros consult with each individual to infuse permanent, positive nutritional changes into every lifestyle. Photos and marble busts of goal-getting clients line the training center’s wall of fame in a vertical boast of the motivation that, along with accountability and encouragement, forms a three-prong approach to fitness in which VIP takes pride.
About VIP Training and Fitness
As a doctor, Mike Sartorius knew that packing on pounds every winter and struggling to shed them the following spring was setting his body up for a major metabolic breakdown. Even after he finally decided to lose the weight and keep it off, it took him five up-and-down years to learn the habits that would lead to long-lasting results. Once he nailed down his five principles of staying fit, however, his body underwent a transformation. Before long, his career would follow suit.
The boot camp, which draws on Dr. Mike's experiences with weight loss, proved an initial success and has since been featured on shows such as MTV's I Used To Be Fat. Dr. Mike and Jerry continue to host boot camps at three locations, though nine other trainers have stepped up to pack each week's schedule with 55 available classes. In all of these classes, trainers strive to maintain a balance between fun and intensity. All workouts are done on a gymnastics foam floor to keep the joints safe.
