About Virginia Canopy Tours
Everett Gee is used to conducting complicated legal maneuvers in Virginian court rooms. Then, he discovered his wild side: zipping through the canopies of the Eastern United States' deciduous forests. Along with owners of North Georgia Canopy Tours, he learned the ropes. When Everett heard that the state of Virginia was looking for outdoor entertainment businesses to populate the Shenandoah Valley, he launched into action. Combining his knowledge of local law and the sport of zip lining, Everett pitched State Park officials the idea of Virginia Canopy Tours. He now shares the birds'-eye vision of forest escapes on canopy tours.
The tree-top tour takes approximately two and a half hours for small groups led by two guides to navigate over eight different zip lines, a sky bridge, air stairs, and a rappelling experience. In the midst of the adventure, tourists enjoy two nature walks, one midway between the highest zip line and fastest zip line, feasting on the heart-pounding action of flying up to 90 feet above the forest floor, a joy normally reserved for birds and people with really strong wings. The second nature walk allows guests to catch their breath after the final longest zip line and and rappel.
