Vortex Asian Bistro
At Vortex Asian Bistro, every meal is also its own show—the result of 15 years of rehearsal by head chef Benny Huang. Perhaps the most impressive meals take the form of formal Japanese kaiseki dinners, which delight guests with surprise courses that change based on the freshest seasonal, and often local, ingredients. From the sakizuke appetizer course to the mizumono dessert course, each plate arrives beautifully arrayed and garnished.
Huang also takes great care when molding his eye-catching sushi rolls. One such roll, the Paradise, combines such decadent flavors as lobster salad, shrimp tempura, and fried banana in soybean paper, all drizzled with a yuzu mango sauce. Other artistically plated entrees include teriyaki-covered chicken and udon and soba noodles that encourage slippery cat's cradle games.
