Great question Jesse,
All of our trees are fresh cut and are grown specifically for us by our suppliers to ensure the freshest cut trees available. There are many factors as to how long a fresh cut tree will last indoors. Having a fresh re cut at time of sale is essential. Every tree we sell we give a fresh re cut and wrap for no extra charge. The next few steps are important to having a long lasting tree. Once re cut keep the bottom of the trunk very clean, in other words don't stand it up on it's trunk until it is in the stand and in water. Place in stand and in water within a few hours after it's re cut. Use hot water for first fill to loosen the sap. Use a tree preserve like Prolong which we sell in the store to keep algae from forming in water. Don't let water run dry in stand, once the water dries up sap will form over fresh re cut and tree won't take water any longer. The first few days the tree will take water quickly, you may even have to water it twice a day, so keep an eye on it. We will have thousands of trees in stock and hundreds of trees on display for your viewing for the next three weeks. Then our inventory will be lower, but we will have trees in stock until Christmas Eve.
