Walks in History
Walks in History's founder, Geordie Buxton, has not only lived in the Charleston area his whole life, but also has written books about his favorite city. In other words, he's an ideal tour guide.
During one- or two-hour Walks In History tours, Geordie tells tales of Charleston's past while leading groups around the French Quarter. Stops include such historic sites as the final resting place of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, the Old Slave Mart slave jail, and St. Michael's Church, where President George Washington and Marquis de Lafayette worshipped. Tours also showcase the Pink House, a Chalmers Street icon that was built in the mid 1690s and served as a tavern where sailors could get their three Ws—whiskey, wenches, and WiFi.
Though Geordie leads most Walks In History tours, other seasoned guides may lead them during the busy summer season.

You can tell he loves his work and knows his stuff. If you decide to sign up, you will come back with more than you planned on.”
