Two of the most acclaimed members of the LA Philharmonic join forces for this special show at Beverly Hills' Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Born in China, violinist Bing Wang is also Associate Concertmaster of the LA Phil and plays solo at the Hollywood Bowl every summer under the baton of composer John Williams (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark.) Originally from Taiwan, Ben Hong, Principal Cellist for the LA Phil, is a Juilliard grad who has collaborated with music titans like Emanuel Ax and Esa-Pekka Salonen and trained actor Jaime Fox for his role in The Cellist. During this show, part of East/West: Merging Music & Cultures, the duo will perform German composer Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 1, along with two Chinese works in honor of the Lunar New Year: Summer Nights by Shan-Le Yang and Jing-Ping Zhang's Harvest Celebration.
