At age six, Justin Kauflin was already wowing audiences at nursing homes and weddings. Tragically, it was also during this time that the pint-sized prodigy lost his sight. Now in his 20s, Kauflin has already set the world of jazz piano ablaze, getting voted Jazz Artist of the Year by VEER Magazine and winning the VSA International Young Soloist Award. Recently signed by none other than Quincy Jones, Kauflin released his sophomore album, Dedication, in January, which debuted in the Top Ten on Billboard's Traditional Jazz Chart and hit No. 1 on the JazzWeek chart. Now this musician acclaimed for his "affectionate and moving" playing (The New York Times) headlines the Wallis. In addition to a live performance, this special event will also include a pre-performance conversation with Kauflin, Quincy Jones and The Wallis' managing director, plus a screening of Keep on Keepin' On, a documentary about Kauflin's relationship with his mentor, legendary jazz musician Clark Terry.
Your ticket also includes admission to a pre-concert conversation between the featured artist, Quincy Jones and The Wallis’ managing director, Rachel Fine. The conversation runs from 7:00pm-7:30pm in the Founders Room and concludes with a wine tasting, which is also included with admission. To reserve your seat, you will need to RSVP at email@example.com.
