About A Chat with Walltown Children's Theatre

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Offer good for summer camp only. (Now - Aug 5, 2016). Located in the historic Walltown community of Durham, we believe in inspiring positive social change through the performing arts. We believe the arts have the power to change lives of young people. We emphasize fun, learning, and creativity.

What is the experience customers can expect?
All of our staff work professionally in the performing arts world. We celebrate diversity in all its expressions, and encourage our campers and students to have fun while working hard. Parents can expect their children to learn new skills, boost their confidence, and make new friends while at WCT.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
Founded in 2000 by Cynthia Penn Halal, Walltown Children's Theatre has become a hub for young people to get an intro to the arts, or gain pre-professional training. Our vision is to give students the tools and confidence to pursue their dreams - be it in the arts, or in an entirely different field.

What do you love most about your job?
Here at WCT, we love being part of a new way to create an expression of community! Our campers are diverse in talent, and each one offers something unique to the weekly camp showcase. Laughter, trying new things, and gaining confidence comprise the core of what we do at WCT.
