As they bask in the glow of amber hanging lamps between brick walls, globetrotting diners at Warique Peruvian Kitchen scan a sprawling menu of Peruvian cuisine including ceviches, stews, and seafood. Shrimp and avocado abut mountains of cold mashed potatoes with chili sauce in an appetizer of causa peruana con camaron. A unique appetizer of anticucho, grilled veal-heart skewers with potatoes and corn, ushers in the aji de gallina’s creamy chicken stew in spicy aji amarillo sauce ruled by the oblong triumvirate of eggs, olives, and potatoes. To prepare a plate of traditional pasta known as tallarin verde, chefs pair green, pesto-slathered noodles with a hearty shell steak. Thirsty peepers peruse a menu of wines to complement their bites, and Friday nights feed hungry ears with live or cooked music.

About Warique Peruvian Kitchen
Traditional Peruvian art surrounds feasts in Warique's dining room, an intimate space that accurately represents its name, which translates to "a cozy gathering place." Here, the chefs serve a menu of traditional Peruvian cuisine, including the Warique salad—a concoction of quinoa, cranberries, and diced avocado—and choros a la chalaca—mussels made Peruvian style in a lemon-juice marinade. The menu also features tender beef entrees; roasted whole, half, and quarter chickens; and numerous takes on ceviche with thin-sliced fish, shrimp, or a mix of shrimp, octopus, and squid—also known as all the members in the band from The Little Mermaid.
