What You'll Get
Before sushi proved how delightful rolled-up food could be, fish had been served folded over rice and woven into a basket. Celebrate piscine innovation with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of sushi and other Japanese fare at Wasabi Sushi & Asian Grill at its Pontchartrain Boulevard location.
Wasabi's menu encompasses both modern and traditional sushi offerings prepared at an expansive sushi bar by a fleet of seasoned culinary artisans. Sushi offerings include more than 30 rolls, from old standbys such as the california roll ($4.50) to more adventurous options such as the French Quarter roll ($13.95), which comes accompanied by a Dixieland-jazz quartet. Meanwhile, fresh salmon or tuna sashimi ($10.50) arrive on a chaise of rice. Diners can also dip into a bowl of gyoza noodles accented by dumplings, vegetables, and beef ($11.50) or skewer wasabi-honey shrimp served with rice ($12.50 for lunch; $16.50 for dinner). Warm sake and cool Japanese beer slake thirsty throats, while eyes roam across walls adorned with traditional Japanese artwork, such as hand fans and lederhosen.

About Wasabi Sushi Restaurant & Bar
Wasabi Sushi Restaurant & Bar’s cooks skillfully roll fresh sushi, grill up hearty teriyaki steaks, and cook elaborate Japanese noodle dishes. The kitchen adorns plates with delicate pyramids of battered tempura shrimp, artfully arranged slices of tender beef tempura, and colorful avocado rolls engraved with curator’s notes. Familiar dishes, such as yaki soba and california rolls, share table space alongside more traditional Japanese treats of sea urchin, albacore, or oshinko-garnished eel.
