The Washington Bach Consort, led by music director and organist J. Reilly Lewis, completes its ambitious cycle based on Bach's Little Organ Book (Orgelbüchlein), a collection of 45 chorale preludes that cover the entire liturgical year. They were written from 1708-1717, while the composer served as the court organist at Weimar. These "miraculous musical miniatures" are set to be performed by Dr. Lewis and the Consort chorus at National Presbyterian Church, marking another impressive accomplishment for the acclaimed ensemble, and following up last season's successful presentation of Part One. Come early for a pre-concert talk by Bach scholar Dr. Michael Marissen.
The program runs 120 minutes, including intermission.
The pre-concert talk begins one hour prior to show time.
