Hundreds have tried, but only a select few D.C.-area improvisers have earned the coveted title of F.I.S.T. champion. Now in its ninth year, Washington Improv Theater's improv elimination championship Fighting Improv Smackdown Tournament (or F.I.S.T. for short) is a winner-take-all comedy competition where new improvisers cut their teeth and veteran improvisers go out for blood. You, the audience, get to watch all the unscripted comedic mayhem unfold on The Source's stage and vote for which team you think deserves the glory. Each match features a performance by a Washington Improv Theater ensemble, Harold team or special guest. And since each competition's scenes are made up on the spot, no two shows are ever the same.
