Two men, each the offspring of high-ranking Nazi officials, examine their very different viewpoints surrounding the legacy of Nazism. One feels blameless, insisting his father had no choice, while the other, deeply ashamed, accepts his father's responsibility. What Our Fathers Did: A Nazi Legacy is an emotional, thought-provoking documentary that follows the pair across Europe in the company of a human rights lawyer who lost much of his Jewish family in the death camps. Looking at the sins of the fathers, they reach some uncomfortable conclusions. This screening, at the Washington DCJCC, is part of the Washington Jewish Film Festival.
