The Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic is ready to whisk you from South Pacific to Sgt. Pepper’s with its festive, summer-loving Broadway, the Beatles and a Concertino! Maestro Ulysses James will lead the orchestra in Bruce Healey’s spectacular arrangement of 13 classic Beatles tunes. Then, the concert bounces from the Fab Four to the dynamic duo of Rogers and Hammerstein. The Alexandria Singers join the Philharmonic to sing show tunes from Oklahoma!, The King and I, South Pacific and The Sound of Music. This George Washington Masonic Memorial performance will also showcase WMP principal clarinetist Rogelio Garza, who’ll be performing Von Weber’s premiere clarinet masterpiece, the Concertino for Clarinet and Orchestra.
