What You'll Get
Protect your automotive investment and gain the respect of your parking-spot neighbor with today's Groupon: $69 gets you an old-fashioned hand wash (a $12.50 value) and new-fangled interior detailing (a $142 value) at We'll Clean, the auto spa that pampers cars with the tender care most people reserve for friends, pets, and lonely mail carriers. Twenty-five-year-old We'll Clean is the car-cleaning destination on the North Side, with two Groupon-accepting locations: 1520 N. Halsted and 2261 N. Clybourn.
We'll Clean knows how to clean yachts, airplanes, and rockets, but cars are its forte. You get a thorough exterior wash that scrubs the bugs off the grill, gets the grime off the wheels and wheel wells, and rubs the muck off the underside of the bumper. Its qualified tailpipe specialist will make sure your tailpipe is clean, and your car will get a luxurious dry by hand.
The interior detailing service meticulously scours away the grime that builds up in all the little nooks and crannies that you simply can't clean with a gas station vacuum. The friendly experts of car care will dress the vinyl surfaces, deodorize your seats, wax your door jambs, and remove the hard-to-inhale gunk in your dashboard air vents. The steering wheel, column, glove box, dashboard, visors, and console all get a thorough cleaning. To top that off, they'll clean and shampoo your carpet, upholstery, side panels, and arm rests.
The whole vehicular experience will take about four or five hours, so you know your car is going to come back cleaner than you could ever make it yourself. Treat yourself to the clean car you deserve, or get the perfect passive-aggressive gift for your messy carpoolers and newly licensed nephew.
Note: This Groupon is valid for cars, SUVs, and minivans; not valid for trucks.
Yelpers give We'll Clean's Halsted location a 3.5-star average. Reviews are polarized, but some clean-car car owners say:
- I love the way my car looks after they wash it. They always do a fantastic job. – Michelle P.
- I took my car to We'll Clean and it's like new again (phew!) They always do a great job. It's well worth the wait -- every time I've been there they've spent a lot of time making sure my car is cleaned to perfection. – Lee W.
Rebel With Also a Car
The year was 1961 and Ace “Johnny” Brandish was 16 and wild. He combed a comb through his slick, blond hair, tipping it up like a peak of meringue. There were only two things he loved in this world: being a rebel, and his 1957 Mustard Shang Automododge with rapid-fire steering, hamlocked brake chargers, custom chrome pinions, aerodyne sport caps, and an AFM radio with all the top hits. He popped his chewing gum, and also chewed a toothpick, while he rolled a cigarette. He threw it away (tough guys don’t smoke).
Just then, Blondie Mondell came out of the bowling alley with a cotton-candy-pink sweater and an armload full of school homework. She was also late for singing practice. She gave him a once over, like the trouble he was.
“Want a ride?” he asked, already knowing the answer. Singing practice could wait.

About We’ll Clean
We’ll Clean auto spa, awarded Best Car Wash by the Chicago Reader in 2010, mollycoddles cars inside a spacious warehouse garage with exposed beams and a skylight. The team behind We’ll Clean has been revivifying jalopies and hot rods since 1984, culminating in a 29-year anniversary party on January 20. They combine attention to detail with a concern for the environment, an awareness of patrons' busy lives, and a mindfulness of dusty dashboards' sensitive feelings.
