What You'll Get
Horses were once considered man’s best friend, but after the invention of the dog, the horse was rebranded as man’s eccentric, oat-obsessed uncle. Take a journey with the kindest of kinsmen with today's Groupon at West End Equestrian Center in Newberry. Choose one of the following options:
- For $30, you get a one-hour riding lesson (a $60 value).
- For $22, you get a one-hour trail ride (a $45 value).
- For $42, you get a one-hour trail ride for two (a $90 value).
- For $61, you get a one-hour trail ride for three (a $135 value).
- For $80, you get a one-hour trail ride for four (a $180 value).
The West End Equestrian Center instructs beginning riders and experienced equestrians alike in English-style riding. Situated on 30 beautiful acres, the center boasts two all-weather outdoor riding arenas for controlled practice in the sun, rain, or flaming sun-rain. Instructors can aid horsy greenhorns with basic flatwork or guide seasoned equine experts over a series of stadium jumps in preparation for shows or high-speed horse chases through hedge-filled gardens. Parents and friends are invited to tag along to watch, with plenty of space available to gawk at deft displays of dressage prowess.
Guides also lead horseback groups on one-hour scenic strolls through of the surrounding acres. Trail groups embark with a minimum of three participants, allowing riders to enjoy the company of new acquaintances or enjoy a peaceful ride in the company of enemies. The air-conditioned clubhouse teems with relaxation-encouraging luxuries for post-ride unwinds including comfy chairs, a refrigerator, and a captive Jeremy Irons providing euphonious running narration of everything happening around him.
