Q:

If only one racer, can he use it for double time on the track instead? I'm thinking of a week when others will be in school and he is alone visiting me. It would be good practice as well as he hasn't been in them before (Age 7)

G.Taylor  asked on  Mar 18, 2013

A:

The option for two is intended to be used by two people.

Q:

So, if I am understanding this correctly, if I buy one voucher for $15 my two 14 year-old sons get one race? Does it involve any practice time before the race? Are they racing against other people or are they racing against a time clock?

Colin B.  asked on  Mar 15, 2013

A:

Instructions and training is before the race. The first 3 laps are practice laps.Depending on the time of the day you are racing they might be other people on the track with you. There will be timing system installed in May 2013

Les W.  from  Merchant  replied on  Mar 15, 2013

A:

To follow up on what Les said there is a briefing session prior to gearing up to ride in the karts. If your son has not driven before please let us know and we'd be happy to go through all the basics with him and spend a little extra time! Drivers 14 and up will go in our new fleet of SodiKarts, as these offer the best safety, ride quality and most adjustment for different sizes and ages of drivers. We call sessions "races" and on the track he would actually be racing head to head with other drivers, but session results are based upon best individual lap time. If you would prefer to have your son on the track by him self weekdays and earlier in the day on weekends offers the best opportunity for him to drive on his own, though we cannot guarantee that. There are no other costs associated with the Groupon. We are now under new management and helmets and everything else necessary is INCLUDED. We are tentatively looking at an install date of the week of March 25, 2013 for the timing system and once that system is in place we will be offering the "Supercard" which includes a balaclava, $5/race discount ($2.50 on jr karts) and other cardholder benefits such as emails with laptimes, and facebook posting of laptimes, but this is strictly optional!

Q:

I have a 10 year old grandson in a wheelchair. Are any of these hand operated for someone with full use of hands? It says 3 practice laps. How long do they get to actually be in the kart time or lap wise? I get one for one grandson and gift for others, can they come and each use one and race the other....ie two coupons and two races, one by grandson and one by gifted with grandson as other racer?

G.Taylor  asked on  Mar 15, 2013

A:

Sorry for the slow reply. Unfortunately we do not have karts that are operated solely by hand controls. We've looked at them, but it is a product of questionable quality, and we do not want to risk the customer experience or more importantly the safety of anyone at our facility with sub-standard go karts. For this reason we've replaced the majority of our fleet already this year and are looking at replacing the rest of the fleet as we move into the summer. We do however still have double karts, and your grandson would be more than welcome to ride in one of those, so long as he has control of his upper body where he can maintain a upright seated position going around the corners for his own safety. The Groupon offer is one race for two people, with a restriction of one per person, per day, therefore is two people came in with two Groupon vouchers, only one of them would be redeemable per day. We would however be happy to offer a discounted second race! Race sessions are approximately 7.5 to 8 minutes long, and are measured by time, rather than the number of laps. Due to this fact we cannot say how many laps a person will go for. A fast driver may be able to do as many as 15 laps in eight minutes, a younger, less experienced, or slower driver may do only 5 or 6. I hope this answers your questions, and if you have any further questions please feel free to ask! :D
