About Westside Pit BBQ
In 1963, patrons who stopped in at mom-and-pop joint Westside Pit BBQ in San Bernardino would hear, "Hi, Sweetheart! What can I get you today?" from the matriarch of the family. In the back, her husband would be smoking ribs and chicken. He'd glaze the meat in his version of barbecue sauce, then pair it with sides created by his wife, including homestyle potato salad and green beans.
Westside Pit BBQ may now be in Rialto, but it's still in the same family, and they strive to re-create that same experience in modern times. Customers pop by for ribs, chicken, catfish, beef, and pork, as well as southern sides and desserts. They take their meals to go, eating them at home or up in a tree when the weather's nice. Westside Pit BBQ also caters meals for packs of hungry meat-eaters.
