Guides lead groups along a 2-mile trail through Will Rogers State Historic Park. While horses navigate the mountain path, riders enjoy panoramic views of the Los Angeles Basin and Pacific Ocean. Each private trail ride includes a 30-minute break atop Inspiration Point, where participants can take in the sights and eat any snacks they bring along. Sunset private rides are available and typically the last trips of the day, starting at 5 p.m. Riders must wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and provided helmets.
Westside Riding School
As owner and wrangler-in-chief at Westside Riding School, Dorte Lindegaard guides horseback expeditions and riding lessons across 180 acres of panorama-filled paths in Will Rogers State Historic Park. Trail rides depart from Jimmy's Barn and plod up mountain trails in pursuit of Inspiration Point, where riders experience spectacular views of the Los Angeles basin, the Pacific Ocean, and Catalina Island. Upon finishing the 2-mile trek and nailing their dismount, riders can visit the Will Rogers ranch house, where the celebrated humorist, actor, and horse whisperer lived with his family and talked shop with Kentucky Derby winners over gourmet oats and champagne troughs.

“If you email Janice, she will respond promptly She will still return your call/voice message, but email correspondence ended up being easier and more timely She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating when I needed to run a few days and times by her for availability Overall, the park is great Beautiful and clean The trail had amazing views, was wide and shady, and overall, was the best trail I'd ever ridden Rob was our guide and he was helpful and friendly also The horses appeared to be taken care of well, and they were well-behaved Rob had them pre-saddled and ready to go when we arrived The only thing that was unfortunate was the 12$ fee to park, and then the arena where the trail starts is about a 10 minute walk from the parking lot However, Janice will send you a thorough and accurate email full of this information when you book Overall, I was very impressed with their service, their horses, and the environment, and I will be a returning customer to this company!”
