$150 for a Five-Day All-Day Summer Camp (Up to $303 Value)
During summer camp, geared towards ages 4-12, children can play and learn in a structured environment. In the morning, groups gather for circle time and practice easy yoga poses. Throughout the 8 a.m.-5 p.m. day, they can play dodge ball, take walks outside, or make art projects based on the lesson theme for the day, which could include designing tiger masks for animal week or learning how to be invisible during superhero week. On Wednesdays, students get to vote for their favorite activity from three choices selected by teachers, and on Fridays, the entire class takes a field trip to places such as the zoo or local museum.
WeVillage is a drop-n-go daycare, preschool, and summer camp where children learn by doing. The facility was founded by Karen Beninati who was inspired by her love of children and the positive volunteer experiences she had at her son’s school. Using her background in film production, Karen handles all of the behind-the-scenes details in order to create a holistic, community atmosphere for learning. To that end, she employs teachers who all have degrees in early-childhood education, are certified in first aid and CPR, and undergo thorough background checks.
During visits, kids play dodge ball in the park, draw pictures, and visit nearby museums. These activities are aimed at helping children improve their mental and physical skills while building the social skills necessary to succeed in school and make meaningful connections with their peers. Kids are also exposed to international culture via yoga classes, world music, and global cuisine.
When Karen Beninati's son was young, she had a hard time finding a childcare facility with which she felt comfortable. So she decided to create WeVillage—a drop-and-go playcare, preschool, and summer camp that parents would feel comfortable leaving their kids at and a place where kids would actually want to go.
To put parents at ease, Beninati hired professionals with degrees in early childhood education and certifications in first aid and CPR. She also ensured they went through a thorough background check. To make WeVillage a place kids wanted to go to, she decided to offer activities.
All the activities at WeVillage are aimed at helping children improve their mental and physical skills while building the social skills necessary to succeed in school and make meaningful connections with their peers. Kids at WeVillage are also exposed to international culture via yoga classes, world music, and global cuisine.
