Wheel Works Art Studio

Sculptor Tracy Ameen has shown her work at world-famous institutions such as the White House, the Smithsonian Museum, and The Museum of Modern Design in New York. She's known internationally for her double wall pottery, which she crafts using a technique that dates back to China's Ming Dynasty. At Wheel Works Art Studio, Tracy shares her skills with students, teaching them how to shape clay on the wheel or carve it using pottery tools. Afterward, visitors' creations are fired in the studio's kiln and can be taken home or buried for future generations of robots to marvel at.

“The woman who runs the Studio (Traci) is knowledgeable and relates very well to people who are new to wheel pottery work. She explains not only what to do but also why, and she helps make even mistakes a fun part of the learning. I purchased this for my 10 year old grand daughter and me, and we both had a wonderful time. The Studio is used by Traci and other pottery artists and is a real working studio that isn't glamorous, but it has all the needed equipment in good working order as well as a really wonderful instructor.”
