About Whistling Andy Distillery
Whistling Andy Distillery's team set up shop in Bigfork, Montana—a place where glacial rivers flow into crystal-clear Flathead Lake. Nature greatly influences this tiny town, so it's no surprise that the landscape plays a big role at Whistling Andy. The distillery calls itself "grain to glass," meaning its handcrafted spirits are made with local grains and cherries, as well as locally sourced botanicals when possible. The result is several small-batch whiskeys, rum, and gin that have been praised by national press outlets and won awards at spirits competitions. Read on to learn more about the unique spirits you can find here:
Hibiscus coconut rum: This award-winning spirit has been praised by Esquire, which deemed it a "flavored liquor actually worth drinking." The magazine added that unlike other coconut-flavored rums that taste like Coppertone, "you’ll luckily never confuse [Whistling Andy's rum] for suntan oil."
Straight bourbon whiskey: To create this bourbon, the distillers combine local grains with deep-aquifer water, then age the spirit in American white-oak barrels. The result? Mellow sweet-corn notes and a smooth finish.
Pink peppercorn and pear gin: It took the distillers two years of trial and error to balance this dry gin's 15 botanicals. It features ripe pears and pink peppercorns steeped for 24 hours, and it often surprises drinkers who thought they didn't like gin.
