It would be helpful if the contact person, Liz was more expedient in responding to emails. In the process of setting up a time she sometimes didn't answer my emails for days. I had to repeatedly check in with her to find an available time.

Nice people work there. They take their time with you. The horse I rode was great. The countryside at the farm is really pretty, quiet and peaceful. I'll definitely go back for another trail ride.

Loved the horse back lessons, thank you. Better signage at the main road, and at turns along the gravel road would be helpful.

About This Deal

The horse and buggy was a popular method of early transportation, far surpassing the bug and buggy, which could barely move and was often destroyed by squeamish gunslingers. Saddle up with today’s Groupon to White Briar Farms in Hillsborough. Choose from the following options:

  • For $27, you get a one-hour Introduction to Riding session and a one-hour trail ride (up to a $70 value).
  • For $49, you get four lessons in English or Western riding styles (up to a $120 value).<p>

Tailoring their lessons to each individual student, the instructors at White Briar Farms guide students through educational trots along 300 acres of pastures, riding rings, and trails. Lessons are customized around each participant’s skill level, reviewing advanced riding methods for skilled horsemen and horsewomen or teaching first-timers what they should expect when mounting a mare and how not to accidentally mount an ocelot. On-site trails coax hooves around White Briar Farms’ numerous facilities, including an indoor arena, lighted outdoor arena, and a 10-acre pasture with a pond and shelter. During beginner lessons, novices discover horse care and barn fundamentals, dedicating most of their one-hour lesson to safety, tacking, and grooming. After focusing their discipline on either English or Western riding, intermediate students spend full hours saddled to develop skills such as balance, control, and perfecting calligraphy while cantering. While advanced apprentices in English master jumping, advanced Western equestrians hone their gaming ability.

About White Briar Farms

Students of all ages and skill levels hone English or Western riding skills in White Briar Farms' diverse riding spaces, which include an indoor arena, a well-lit outdoor arena, and a network of trails. Each student's journey takes shape with the farm's customizable lesson plans and covers topics from basic warm-up techniques to the nuances of specialty styles. Lessons are stratified into three levels, with options for a variety of needs, including toddler riders with a chaperone and equestrians seeking a theoretical foundation in riding before saddling up. The farm's fleet ranges from colts to adult horses, and when they have time off from lessons, they take jaunts in the two turn-out paddocks and graze in a 10-acre pasture, complete with a pond where they can take a dip to feel the weightless freedom of a seahorse.
