Hi Caroline, I already take ythe WH reformer classes, so I am interested in the mat classes. Are they more for cardio or toning? I love the sculpting/core workout that I get from the reformer and want to know if the mat classes offer weight resistant exercises and do that as well - or whether they are more like a yoga or cardio class. Thanks!

Hi Ruby, In the Mat class we learn to use our own body as the resistance. You get the same sculpting and lengthening feeling on the Mat as the Reformer although there are more exercises that have to do with balance, rolling of the spine, and using small bases of support for building core strength. The Mat is great to learn so you can take the exercises with you while you are traveling or even do them at home in between your studio sessions.
