White Lake Inn
White Lake Inn first appeared along the water's shore in 1919, and today it remains "the place to go for a night out," according to White Lake-Highland Patch. Guests dance to live music on Friday and Saturday nights, play outdoor sports such as volleyball, or enjoy a drink at the lakeside patio and tiki bar whenever weather permits. All the while, White Lake shimmers in the background, and in the warmer months it's common to see pontoon boats pulled up to its dock.
But even when the lake's iced over, White Lake Inn keeps bellies warm with finger foods and hearty pub sandwiches, and Tex-Mex favorites such as fajitas and burritos made delightfully messy by chili and meted cheese. Naturally, there's a fish sandwich (beer-battered cod on a hoagie), along with hefty reubens and lighter wraps and roll-ups. Extra-crispy fries come with most dishes, but there's also a wide selection of shareables such as fried pickles and wings—optionally with "ear smokin'" sauce.
