Patrice Notarfrancesco, owner of Whitneyville Food Center, isn't shy about what she loves most about her own store. On the website for her Hamden grocery shop, she says she couldn't live without its housemade hamburgers. "Our butcher, Johnny, makes a special blend, and it is to die for." She calls the Jeni's Ice Cream they carry "just fabulous," and she raves about their Raffetto's raviolis, which she and her staff make special trips to Stamford for. She doesn't seem to mind the two-hour round-trip trek, though, because the thing she actually loves most about Whitneyville is its customers, who enjoy the store's variety of specialty products and locally grown produce just as much as she does.
