Joy Behar is coming to the historic Wilbur Theatre tomorrow night, July 24, at 8 p.m. The almost-century-old venue in Boston's Historic Theatre District will echo with laughter as one of the best female comedic talents around steps onto the stage (she begins her hilarious jokes off stage so people are already laughing when she arrives at the podium).
Behar, a stand-up comedienne with television, cinema, theater, and writing experience under her belt, is most famous as a co-host on daytime women's talk show The View. Winner of three MAC Awards and a CableACE Award for her comedic stylings, Behar is known for her quick humor and hilarious pokes at celebrities, politicians, and celebriticians.
So stop crying and get your friends some Groupons to fill your Friday night with laughs, not tears.
Behar's mighty personality (so spicy it won her TV Guide's Personality of the Year Award in 1991) and strong opinions are her trademarks. It's no wonder viewers say they love her or hate her. But either way, they're still watching. Here's what people at RateItAll say:
- Joy is one brassy lady - only the gifted can quip so quickly. She really is brilliant, and at 64, she looks like a million. I love her, she keeps me laughing and we all could use more of that! – TheDon
- Reminds me of my "know-it-all Aunt" who, it turns out, really did know it all. – rschonfeld
- I can't help it. She makes me laugh out loud. – Dallas
