Wild Alpine Guides & Outfitters

Hundreds of thousands of square miles of ice shelfs, mountain ranges, and frozen tundra can make Alaska an inaccessible place. Of course, thrill-seekers and sight-seers alike have never been put off by the difficulty, which is where Wild Alpine's experience as a guide service becomes paramount. Comprised of a small staff of mountaineers, educators, and general lovers of the outdoors, the outfitter escorts travelers on Alaskan adventures throughout the year, ranging from backcountry ski excursions to mountain climbing in Denali National Park. Trained and certified by the American Mountain Guides Association, the guides have the skills and know-how to keep groups safe even in some of the most extreme environments—from scaling glaciers to crossing the path of a sleeping yeti.

The company also plays the role of trainer for amateur mountaineers preparing for an excursion. Ice climbing and glacier travel require special skills beyond simple physical preparation, which the team teaches during intensive courses in the Alaskan wilderness. The company's retail store, meanwhile, keeps outdoorsmen outfitted with the gear and supplies needed for any excursion.
