Today’s skiers and snowboarders symbolize humanity’s superiority to the Earth, carving mountains faster than tectonic plates and adding a backflip to every 360-degree rotation. Hand our planet a silver medal with today’s Groupon: for $34, you get a ski or snowboard outing at Wild Mountain/Taylors Falls Recreation. This outing includes:

  • All-day lift ticket (up to a $42 value)
  • Ski or snowboard rental (up to a $26 value)<p>

Nestled on the slopes of the St. Croix Valley, 26 powdery trails and four terrain parks snake down the face of Wild Mountain/Taylors Falls Recreation’s 100-acre ski area. First-time shredders practice carving and evading snowmen pedestrians on Northern Route’s green-circle terrain, and experts skip straight to screaming down The Wall, a double-black-diamond run named for its steep slope and solid-brick obstacles.

Farther down the mountain’s 300-foot vertical drop, skiers and snowboarders draw on deep reserves of adrenaline before tackling the terrain parks’ boxes, kink rails, and kickers. Riders can strap on rental gear from top brands before taking to the slopes in any kind of weather thanks to the resort’s state-of-the-art snowmaking capabilities.

Wild Mountain

At Wild Mountain, visitors can enjoy a variety of fun activities regardless of the season. During the winter, snow lovers can partake in skiing, snowboarding, and tubing, which features 100 acres of hills encompassing 26 runs, bunny slopes for newcomers, and four terrain parks for the seasoned veterans. Once the snow melts, the winter wonderland transforms into an amusement park replete with go-karts, a 1,700-foot alpine slide, and a waterpark with several large waterslides along with a lazy river and other aquatic attractions. Families can also enjoy a game of volleyball and horseshoes, or just relax at one of the picnic tables or tents scattered throughout the park.
