What You'll Get

Unlike Animal Farm and Animal Planet, the animal kingdom is an oligarchy dominated by a few especially ruthless species of crab. Venture into animal worlds with today's Groupon: for $6, you get two tickets (up to a $12 value) to the Wildlife Learning Center in Sylmar.

Founded by two biologists with a passion for educating the public about natural science, the Wildlife Learning Center exhibits more than 50 species from six continents in a delightful, park-style setting. Zoopeepers can fill their faces' portholes with sights of exotic species, such as the Eurasian lynx and the blue poison-dart frog, pity little legless lizards, and seek investment tips from the old bearded dragon. Visitors fawn over fauna in a beautiful natural environment that shuns the sterile, removed feeling of some zoos. On hand to answer questions is a team of specialists with backgrounds in biology, ecology, animal behavior, and more. The WLC supports its mission to shelter animals in need and increase public awareness of environmental challenges through its nonprofit organization, the Wildlife Learning Foundation.

About Wildlife Learning Center

The nonprofit Wildlife Learning Center populates its ancient olive grove with more than 50 species from across the globe, teaching visitors the value of conservation while raising funds for wildlife sanctuary and public education through its Wildlife Learning Foundation. Alongside a circular walking path, a menagerie of animals, including lynxes, arctic foxes, kinkajous, and college sports mascots, frolics within landscaped enclosures. Throughout the afternoon, friendly biologists give training talks on the hour and facilitate up-close interaction with various critters. The zoo also hosts children's camps and birthday parties for precocious naturalists to ensure a future generation of nature-savvy citizens.
