We went to our tour today at Central Park and were a little disappointed. It was a gorgeous day and we did learn some, but there wasn’t much walking- it was mostly standing and listening. We learned about 5 different plants and then had a lunch break. We ended up leaving during lunch. I think the tour would be best for smaller children as they might find it the most interesting!

I went on this tour twice already. I took my daughter. Mr. Brill and his daughter are extremely knowledgeable and fun. This tour is something everyone should do. He lets us taste a samples that he cooked and they are so delicious! There were such nice and cool people on every tour, I will definitely do it again! See you on the trail!

About "Wildman" Steve Brill

"The whole world is my garden," author and naturalist Steve Brill told the Los Angeles Times in 2012—and he means that literally. For more than 32 years, the naturalist has been taking groups into the relative wilds of New York City and beyond to find treasures—edible ones—in parks and other public areas. From identifying mushrooms to knowing where medicinal plants are likely to grow, he helps tour-goers open their eyes to wild foods that have always been right in front of them and even provides recipes to help them make the most of their finds.
