Hamburgers are modeled after Victorian-era architecture, a style known for its sesame-seed-dusted roofs, flowing lettuce curtains, and meat everywhere. Feast ornately upon a well-formed feeding frenzy at Willamette Burger Company on Broadway Street. Led by two local couples, Willamette's squad of patty purists grind out a gourmet menu of fresh, hormone-free burgers ($6.50–$11.50) and sandwiches ($4–$8), topped with inventive arrangements of locally sourced ingredients and then tucked lovingly in house-made buns. Enjoy your 6 oz. serving of refined comfort cuisine with a glass of wine bearing a nametag of one of the finest Northwest wineries ($5–$8), or pace your protein intake by interspersing bites of burger with palmfuls of made-from-scratch tater tots ($3 for a basket), French fries ($4 for a basket), and impeccably greased fate lines.
Willamette Burger Company was named the Best New Restaurant by readers of the Statesman Journal in 2010 and scored second place in the same competition's Best Burger category. The EatSalem blog featured the restaurant; 88% of Urbanspooners recommend it; and Yelpers give it an average of 3.5 stars.
- …the freshest, juiciest burgers possible and local ingredients at every turn. – Rachel Bucci, Statesman Journal
- I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb to say that Willamette Burger Company makes the best burger in town. I've tried to avoid declaring "best (fill in the blank)" because it's too subjective. But, Willamette Burger Company is so far ahead of the pack in every burger category it's very clear they are tops in town. The fresh ground beef patties that they make daily are thick like a homemade burger and they will cook them to your liking. If you're into burgers you already know about and frequent this place often. If you're not, WBC will make you more enthusiastic about meat. – EatSalem
